Corey Crafton is a patent agent with a deep research background in molecular biology. She strengthens the Grüneberg and Myers team with her perspective from twelve years as an in-house patent manager for agriculture-related technologies at a U.S. Fortune 50 company. There, Ms. Crafton engaged in prosecution of domestic, international, and foreign patent applications, obtaining valuable coverage in a number of different portfolios. She coordinated these efforts effectively both with internal colleagues and foreign intellectual property firms. In particular, Ms. Crafton served as a liaison between business managers and in-house attorneys, balancing technical, legal, and commercial considerations. Ms. Crafton also modernized her previous company’s electronic docketing, filing, and billing systems in order to streamline workflows. Her experience handling all facets of in-house patent prosecution provides her with the foundation to fully understand the concerns of the firm’s clients.
In addition to her intellectual property experience, Ms. Crafton researched and engineered microorganism-based techniques as a molecular biologist for nearly 11 years. Ms. Crafton’s work advanced the state of the art in her field and ultimately resulted in inventorship on five U.S. patents.
